Catholic Churches in China

I started taking pictures of Catholic churches in China because I didn't think there would be any at all. The three pictures from TieLing are of the same one.

  2. Of course it smells in China! You never know what nasal sensation awaits you street to street...

  3. I don't really notice the smell. Maybe I've gotten so used to it. All I know is that there will be times when you're walking and you'll suddenly be assailed by the smell of sewage. Other than that, nah, no smell.

  4. I tend to get the "oooh, is that burning garbage or burning soap" aroma. There are also days when everything smells like metal (I know it sounds weird) and plastic burning.

Then again, they do make pharmaceuticals where I live...

  6. Oh! Those two churches in Beijing are really old, I think. And they were shut down upon the declaration of communism. The one in Tieling looks fairly new.

  8. Nope. I used to be a Protestant. Lost my religion about a decade ago. Shut down during the Cultural Revolution, I think. But don't quote me on that. They're open now although the Catholicism in China is a bit underground, meaning separate from the Vatican. There are talks about going back before 2008 though. Again, don't quote me. Ikaw na lang mag-google then tell me what you find out. Hehe.
