Welcome Me Home!

I have decided to go home. For now.

I figured it must be time. For after all, isn't home where one goes to when one is exhausted by the day's events? When one needs to hear the familiar voices of family and friends? When one longs for the sweet embrace of small limbs impatiently awaiting one's return?

I have considerably calmed down after the initial shock of losing my job. I suppose this would be the best time to go home. I'll be avoiding winter, for one. Plus my thesis deadline is fast approaching. I am still deadset on finishing it on time.

As soon as I've made the decision, I cannot help but daydream about being met at the airport, having Jolly spaghetti, fishballs, manggang hilaw with bagoong, tinola, etc., trips to the beach, watching plays, shopping at SM Valenzuela which was not yet open when I left, hanging out in coffeeshops with friends, oh the list goes on and on...

But then there'd be the heat again. And the traffic. And the noise. Oh well. Home is home. And what's so great about it is that it's always there whenever you need it. And right now I think I need it.

Start planning my surprise welcome party (ies?), people! I promise to act surprised. :D

  1. Sounds like a plan! It would have been a better plan if home was Brisbane, but what the hell, I forgive you :-)

  5. Funky! Of course, no one ever comes to Brisbane, but I'm sure I could rouse up the locals. You'll have a party that consists of me, two white guys and an asian foreign exchange student...

  8. Wow! I'm not even back yet and there are already so many events to go to! Yipee!

Budi, oh yes! It'll be time to collect on that tinola soon. You're making my mouth water just thinking about it.

Erwin, can we watch a play before the javas? It's been so long since I last watched anything. Please please please?

Lionel, Salcedo is soooo far. Do you have the brunch every Saturday? If yes, I'll make sure to join you guys one day. I'll drag my sister's lazy butt too.

Erwincute, where do you have *your* events? I'll have to catch up with Pia and the rest of the gang so yes, I just might drop by one of these days.

Nick! That sounds like a cool party. Let's go do that one day.

  9. Erwincute! I went over to your site and saw some familiar names (aside from Pia and Alvin's). Was your major under Eng or ComSci? Because that would explain a lot.

  17. The REAL reason that you are leaving is because you are afraid of taking that test and losing the bet!

  19. I would love to watch a play with you. Hmmm, lets see, the last time I saw a play was in senior high. I think the play was "The Taming of the Shrew". I already forgot what it was all about.

Done deal: Watch a play, then coffee or whatever you want you want to do. Heck, I'll even file a vacation leave. :)

  20. Hahahaha! At least you had Shakespeare for your last play uh... ten years ago. I'll check out what are being staged when I go home and send you a message. Save your vacation leave for the beach. Nuna, we ARE still going to Boracay, right?
