I finally tried shooting an air rifle in the 10-meter range. I got an 82 overall score, which is not bad. I had a slight advantage though. I propped the rifle on the stand in an effort to make it steadier. And well, it was heavy...
Dennis, Alexis, Nuna: It is fun and exciting. However, I don't see myself shooting every single day for four hours, which is what they do. I would've been bored to death.
+Pau, yup, this is in China. The four shooters there are new members of the National Shooting Team.
No. I think they just use the stands for when they're loading the guns. I have an exuse though. I'm not wearing those thick and stiff clothes (which I think aids in minimizing movement) so we're almost even. :D
You also do sport shooting, Carolyn? Wow. It was really fun but if I do decide to take it up as a sport, it's going to be very expensive... so I won't. Plus I'm too lazy and undisciplined.
On that note, I don't think I'd want to try out for the Philippine team but Jason, it'd be interesting if you do get in the US team.
Lionel, oh yes, you got that right! Hahahaha!
Maej, I wanna go to Mindanao one of these days! I'm going to crash in your place, k? :D
Oooh! Thanks for the intro, Marlo. For a while there I was wondering... well, I was just wondering, period. I actually originally thought you were members of the national team back home. Ateneo has a rifle and pistol team? Interesting....
Looks like good shooting. There are some idiots on You Tube that actually pointed a loaded rifle to a camera and a loaded pistol to a dog.
ReplyDeletelooks like fun...

Thanks Puyu! Hahaha!
Are the stands allowed in competition?

ReplyDeleteexcuses, excuses.
ReplyDeleteI've shot plenty of critters on full sprint from further than 10 meters! Even without the stiff clothes or stands.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I should try out for the team?

ReplyDeleteThe target is *in a tiny, tiny voice* tiny. As in microscopic tiny!
ReplyDeleteoh man.... the title says it all.... how am I supposed to write about it pa? =P
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I didn't know what caption to put kasi e. Sorry for spoiling your fun. :p
ReplyDeleteWow, some good shots there! Haven't shot in more than 2 yrs. It is kind of a stress reliever, though. You look like you had fun!
ReplyDeleteA non-moving target at only 10 meters? I think I should try out for the US team. That's too easy.
ReplyDeletehey, joni! that looks exciting =)
