Notebook Madness

I have, at any given moment, at least three unused notebooks of different sizes, thickness, paper quality, etc. in my possession. At least. I'm pretty sure I have more. The point is, I definitely do not need another one.

But I want it.

It's not even a notebook of any remarkable quality. It's as ordinary as can be: lined, of average size (maybe a bit smaller), of average thickness (maybe a bit thicker). "A normal notebook," in fact, was how I described it to a friend while trying to convince her to have coffee or tea with me.

So it is nothing but pure madness. I have fallen prey into this marketing scheme that seeks nothing more than to make me part with my hard-earned money is what happened. And as with most obssessions, it leaves one helpless. It certainly does not help that I pass by the coffee shop going to and from work everyday.

Of course it is not that I lack excuses to hang out in this particular coffee shop. I get to have some alone time, for one. That is, of course, always good for the writing. Or if not, I get to hang out with friends (whom of course I've tricked into having coffee or tea so I could have one stamp more in my little card) and get to catch up on each other's lives. Besides I am working three different jobs. I deserve an occasional cup of coffee if that's what I want. And yes, that's what I want.

I am eight stamps away from the much coveted notebook. If you're in the area and would like to have coffee or tea, remember to give me a call. I just might be available.

  3. I know the feeling. I always carry around a notebook. They come handy when I'm in some place and suddenly an idea comes to mind. Also, I like sitting around and describing the things around me. It beats boredom, hehe... Sometimes, these notes end up in my fiction.

  6. No, Nuna. It's not a planner. It's just a notebook. An ordinary notebook. But yes, it's from Coffee Bean. Besides, I already have a planner. A home-made one at that. Teeheehee!

  15. We should make a multiply notebook fanatic members site!

  16. Let's! But no, I want a real notebook that would be available to Multiply fanatics. Let's design it! Um, I'm not good with graphics though...

  17. I think I'm going to make it a project. Or at least something like it. A personalized notebook complete with everything that makes me happy. Soon, soon.

  18. That is really exciting - a digital notebook community! .... that officially makes me a nerd.

  20. On a related note, I found out last week that of my four high school best friends, three of them are also collecting stamps/stickers to get freebies from coffee shops. Nels and Virge are collecting for the Starbucks planner while Honey patronizes Seattle's Best. Seattle's Best indeed has the best deal of all three. It's giving away a tote bag, a mug, a planner, among other things for only ten stickers.

I got to talking with my officemate about this (she's a Starbucker) and so I could tell her exactly what things Seattle's is giving away, I googled away and found this: http://manila.metblogs.com/archives/2007/11/battle_of_the_c.phtml

If only there's Seattle's Best near here....

  22. I get that too, only its with sketch pads. Every couple of months, I suddenly 'decide' I'm taking up the pencils again, so it's off to the news-agent/bookstore for a sketch pad (MUST be leather bound, although I don't know why I insist on that...), as many different grades of graphite as I can get my paws on, and a couple of black felt tips between .2mm and .5mm for the rare occasion when a drawing actually reaches the point where I might want to do the line-work. If I'm very lucky, I might even get a drawing done before boredom or the lack of time kicks in and the pile of mechanical and ye ol' school pencils, erasers, scalpels, and other bits and pieces get lost in the chaos of my disorganised world.

I kinda wanna draw now... brb :-)
