I’m spending the day trying to figure out where to go on an overnight weekend trip. Limited time, so it has to be somewhere close enough. But not too close that it defeats the purpose of going on a vacation. Also, it preferably has to have a nice beach.

Due to limited time, 4get about the beach. Why don't you just try Sonya's Garden in Tagaytay. I haven't been there but i heard a lot of good feedback about it. After an overnight, you can try their brkfast in bed and experience the relaxing spa/massage b4 driving home. Or if time permits, you may have a quick visit to Picnic Grove and enjoy riding the Zipline...Juz sharing my idea of weekend if am in the phils po...^_~

Ey, we ended up going to Corregidor. Which was good because it kept raining and we would have been really pissed had we gone to a beach.
