Nice. Is this just a "spontaneous" thing or are they a dance troupe or something? Whenever I pass by Quezon City in the morning, old folks (mostly Chinese) do Tai-Chi. I suddenly miss going to Ongpin... Maybe I'll pass by Binondo one of these days and get me some pics to upload.
I'm not sure if we can call them a dance troupe although yes, I think they practice a lot. This is one of the best ones I've seen so far, complete with costumes and props (I know it's too dark to see in the video but trust me on that). I think dancing is also their way of exercise. And yes, I've also seen groups doing tai-chi... or is it taebo? I don't know the difference. :p
I think I know what you mean. Before, I spend a lot of time along Roxas Blvd at Rajah Soliman Park (Its the park nearest Aristocrat and Mabini Church). There's also a pseudo dance troupe that usually performs at night. They usually do Chinese acrobatics with a touch of comedy. One time, they were doing a routine and the act called for one of the shoes of the performer to be flung while doing a backflip. The shoe almost hit my ex squarely on the face if I hadn't caught the shoe... Sayang, sana hinayaan ko na lang...
Hahaha! Bitter pa rin! But I haven't seen any acrobatics here yet. There are a lot of ballroom dancing-types. Then sometimes all-women groups dance with fans.
um, nuni, tai chi and tae bo are not the least bit alike. and i know this because i have been attempting to beat the monster that is tae bo for a couple of weeks now. tae bo is short for thai boxing. enough said.
